| I have a very fussy female yorkie. She would only eat cesars -- and then after a few months of eating that -- only if was mixed with boiled chicken breast -- I tried everything, (10 different kinds of dried dogs foods with Iams sauce, or eggs or cottage cheese -- didn't work). I added two more yorkies to my household which were not as fussy - but they all had different preferences -- I tried canned Merrick's, Hills, Science Diet, Iams, Eukenuba, Evo, Nutro etc., etc. etc. Finally I found a dog food that all three of them will eat and that I don't have to add any chicken breast too!!! I'm so relieved -- the product they all gobble down is California Natural (canned Brown Rice and Chicken). |

				   | Try chicken mixed up in their dry food. Mix well with fingers.Make sure the smell of the chicken gets on all of the dry food. Good Luck !

well, after I mashed it into smaller pieces, she ate the whole thing ... and I never went back to giving her carrots, peas, boiled chicken, rice, etc. Now I leave the food there and she eats when she wants to ... knowing that the only thing that will change is I will spray "magic" on it (water)... That happened on her 3rd birthday and she is 4 years 4 months old now and weighs 4.5 pounds. So that was my success story. I wanted her on dry food, she had been on Hill's Science I/D canned food ....

				   | Both my dogs are just as crazy picky! And - the problem is that the more I feed them the things they like - the more that is all they want. Mine definitely do not like dog food. Some things that mine will almost always eat are 1) They like to chew on carrots - 2) Turkey - their very favorite food 3) Chicken 4) Steak (of course) and some other meats Then there are a million things (like your dogs) that they will eat one day and not another...... depending on how they feel. ------------------------- I am going to try something new..... I am going to give my dogs only water in the mornings and when I'm gone (6-7 hours) at work. I am hoping that this will make them very hungry and they will be eager and willing to eat when I get home. Then, I'm going to give them some canned dog food that I know they have eaten before. And this is all they are going to get! (No treats for a while - treats can really fill these little dogs up). Perhaps my dogs just need to be a "little more hungry" -- and then they may be happy to eat anything! Good luck to you and me.... Carol Jean |

I am so glad you have found what you little furbabies like. No California natural here. There is one last brand here, a french brand to try.

				   | Thanks all of you... I have made a note of everything to try. I looked in the supermarket yesterday at the baby food but unfortunately it all has onions or onion powder in it.... even the potatos. Tonight I am going to simply try heating the food slightly in the microwave. If that fails then I will try all the mixing ideas etc. I am determined to this time to get her to eat the right food. |

				   | Well today was a successful day. Sadie ate some Cesar, slightly warmed with a little grated cheese. She wouldn't eat at first so I took my little boy, Alfie into another room and left her alone for a while. My partner went to answer the phone and there she was eating The packet was 150g/5.3oz and xhe at 3/4 of it. Lets hope this continues tomorrow...... |

if she like meat then why cant you give to her, its more better then any other company food[thats wat i belive],mine one is also very picky and dont like dog food, so i daily give him either some boiled beef or chicken and always keep dry food near his water bowel and some time just 5-6 kibbles he will eat, thats all he ist and he is just fine,as other need you can give her complex vitamine and calcium formulas........

She loves fresh meat but it doesn't love her. While she was on a human food diet she would have diarrea once a fortnight for two or three days. I spoke to my vet and he said it is because of her diet. He recommended that I put her on a dog food diet. Its been about a month and to start with she ate quite a bit but now wants human food again. But her stomach is so much better, she hasn't had diarrea once. Also her poo is now more solid whereas before it was always too soft. I asked my vet what brand to feed her and he said some are better than others but at the end of the day let her have whichever one she prefers. Only to give meat and stuff sometimes.

When the poop is soft itz because there are not that many nutrients in the food or the pup is not maintaining many nutrients ... when the poops are firm like like tootsie rolls, it means the pup is maintaining all the good nutrients (as my vet explained to me) .... I am a believer ... what goes in; eventually comes out! Thatz why I believe dry dog food is best (JMHO) .... try this web site for some information. http://www0.epinions.com/content_110698860164
