thanks everyone. i really appreciate it. just wanted to share one more experience i had. the vet clinic at petsmart didn't give me antibiotics for diddy until 5 days later. then i went to pick it up and the attendant told me to give him 1.5 cc's twice a day. She even marked it on the syringe. So i gave to him that day twice. Then one more time the next day. it seemed like a lot to me. also I was wondering because the whole bottle was almost gone. I brought diddy to his regular vet to have his ears checked because previously he had ear mites. She also checked his cut. She said he was healing and asked about his medicine. I told her they told me to give him 1.5 cc's of a pink antibiotic and she said that's too much. That's enough for a 15 pound dog and he is only 2 pounds 10 and a half oz. So when i came home i called the vet's office at Petsmart to double check. They apologized and informed me that it was in fact .15 cc's. They had made a mistake. I was like oh no i gave him 1.5 three times which is equivalent to two weeks worth of medicine. poor diddy. they asked me if he was ok. luckily he was only hyper and at times sleepy. im so glad nothing happened. he could of been really sick. i was upset that this was the 4th incident that happened. i feel sorry for diddy. he is ok now and it is out of his system.

I don't think I would ever go near that place again..... I get so mad when people are ignorant like that, like *oops* we made a mistake. The people at that store are lucky it didn't hurt Diddy badly!! I was looking at the grooming/vaccination/classes at my local PetCo, but now I don't trust them ONE BIT. Looks like I'm searching for a private trainer Good luck with everything and hugs to Diddy!

Yup, I wouldn't chance any medicine or anything without clearing it through a vet first. There's pretty much no responsibility on the pet stores part if they screw up, but even then, it's just not worth it. Poor Diddy! No wonder he was hyper at times and sleepy at times. I'm so happy to hear he made it through!
