| should i spay my female or neuter my male? hello and good morning. i am a proud owner of 2 beautiful yorkies, jay jay (1 1/2 years old) and chloe faye (5 months), both are akc registered. heres my problem. i bought chloe with intentions of breeding her to jay but then started to research breeding and i am NOT wanting to breed at all. the thoughts of losing chloe because of my ignorance is not what i had in mind. so i need to know if i should spay her, or neuter him? and does the age make a difference? jay is a somewhat smaller yorkie (3.5 pounds) with a soft spot and after researching info on breeding, should not be breed at all but chloe is perfect in health and temperment and has a beautiful coat developing, and could possibly be breed later on when she is older. any responses greatly appreciated, beth |

| I would spay and neuter them both that way you arent dealing with any undesirable things like a heat or male marking

| If you're sure you don't want to breed her, I would fix them both.

| Have them both fixed - there are many benefits to their health and life in general.
