| ![]() Tomorrow Stump and I are going to a Fall Fest and selling our stuff. And so I am also making homemade dog Treats to sell there. I'm making Peanut Butter, Chicken, and Cheese for tomorrow. I use a Yogurt Base Frosting and I've been researching and it says that Food Coloring isn't bad, but is there anything better to make the Frosting Colorful? I wanted to make it Purple and Orange for Halloween?? If anyone knows please let me know! Thanks. |

| ![]() I've heard that food coloring is bad. You can use carrot juice to make it orande.

| ![]() I think you can use carrot juice for orange and blueberries for purple...although I don't think you will get a very deep color.

| ![]() I took this paragraph from a article on the bad things in dog food: Food colorings are still commonly used in pet foods today despite the fact that they are not necessary and some have been linked to medical problems. Food colorings are tested for safety by various bodies around the world. In the United States, FD&C (standing for the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act) numbers are given to approved dyes, while in the European Union, E numbers are used. The FDA receives compensation for every pound of food dye it certifies (not inspects), which many see as a conflict of interest in regard to the safety of these dyes. Health problems Although regulatory authorities like the FDA in the United States have banned many products from use in food due to safety concerns, debate still rages over the safety of those artificial colorings that are still permitted Last edited by Lacy's Mom; 10-13-2006 at 01:05 PM. |

| ![]() ack don't use food colouring I think the blueberries and carrot juice sound good!!!! that's a really great idea, that's what I would buy if I were one of the buyers! I actually heard once kool aid, but I wouldn't just go on that, so don't use kool aid unless you're sure! |
