| I think Cordelia is sick Ok since we brought Cordelia home from Mans Best Friend Saturday she has been acting different. She has been sleeping a lot and not eating. Saturday she was really sleepy and followed me everywhere. I just passed it off as she was tired from all the training and being away from mommy. Well, they said they were feeding her the Eukanuba puppy food. Well, she won't eat that. I tried giving her wet food and she won't eat that. I gave her some cat food because she used to love that. She wouldn't even sniff it. I gave her some nutrical yesterday and she used to just lick that right off my fingers. I told my fiancé something is wrong. He said she was fine and that she is just getting familiar with all the new smells again. I have been keeping her in her crate because that is what they told us to do. I keep her crate in the living room. This morning around 4:30am I hear a bark next to my bed. I thought I was dreaming. I hear another bark and Marc was like is Cordelia in the bedroom. I turn on my lamp and look down and Cordelia was she looking up at me. I picked her up took outside and she wouldn't potty. I brought back inside to see if she would eat...nope, nothing. Ok like I said she has been acting needy. So today Marc goes home for lunch and finds throw up in her crate. He takes her outside and she wouldn't potty. He tried to feed her, she still won't eat. So he called the vet to see if he could bring her in. They said we could bring her in, but the doctor is in surgery and wouldn't be able to see her until 2:00pm

| (cont.) Also we called Mans Best Friend to find out for sure what they were feeding her. They said Eukanuba puppy food. I also noticed that the trainer was giving her hot dogs as treats for her to use for commands. This kind of upset me because they told us that they use positive reinforcement. That they didn’t use treats to get the dogs trained.

| Oh, I am sorry to hear that Cordelia isn't acting herself. How long was she gone for training? I would definitely have the vet check her even if you have to go to an emergency vet or a different one than normally sees her. Her behavior sounds strange to me. Let us know. |

| Baby Cordelia I'm so sorry to hear that Cordelia isn't feeling well. Our Maggie was doing almost the same thing. She wouldn't eat. All she wanted to do was sleep. I made sure she got her Nutristat. She even started tinkling in her crate. She wouldn't make a peep when she woke up, just up to tinkle and back down. I made some changes myself. At first I was her Short Order Cook and then the Laundry Maid. I finally tried this: 2 tsp. ground up dry puppy food 1 tsp. Gerber Chicken and Gravy Enough diluted Goat's Milk for a consistancy of oatmeal She eats the above 3 times a day. In-between snacks and bedtime is when I give her the Nutristat. She's only 10 weeks old. She slobbed herself out on it. She now walks about strutting her barrel belly. We keep reminding her that it isn't ladylike to look like you have a beer belly. I also quit locking the crate door at night. It's in the kitchen with a baby gate. During the day I leave it open and she goes in and naps. When she is awake, I take her out every hour. During the night, I put a tinkle pad down on the floor. She no longer soils her bed. I throw the tinkle pad away the next morning, use a couple of Chlorox Wipes to wipe away germs, and start a new day. She is much happier, eats well, doesn't throw up and only tinkles once during the night on the tinkle pad. I have ordered the Wizdog. It should be here soon. Figured after she is housebroken, the Wizdog will come in handy for those horrible rainy or cold days. Hope this helps you a little. |
