For those who use Apple Cider Vinegar.... how do you administer it? Do you put it in their food? Drinking water? Spray it on? Rinse them with it after a bath? Or All of the above? I am going to try both the Emu Oil and Apple Cider Vinegar on Hobbs for his dandruff. I am already feeding him corn and wheat free food and he is on Missing Link. Both of these have really helped to make his once cottony coat no so shiny and silky. But, he still has dandruff, and I feel so bad for him because it looks like it really itches. I am really hoping that either the Emu Oil or Apple Cider Vinegar or BOTH will do the trick because I really don't want to have to start him on anything "medicated." If I DO put it on his food, is it alright to put the Apple Cider Vinegar AND the Missing Link at the same time on his food? Any suggestions? |
I put half a teaspoon every morning in Cali's water bowl..she gets missing link on her food. Its also helped with her stinky breath so that was a PLUS!! :D |
Hey Rebecca - whats the deal with the apple cider vinegar - I have never heard of this before? |
i want to know toooo |
meeeeee too !!!!! |
I want to know too! |
me too ... what is it? and whatz it used for? |
I researched APPLE CIDER VINEGAR ... seems itz not only good for dogs http://www.earthclinic.com/Pets/acvfordogs.html but for humans as well .. http://www.bragg.com/products/applecidervinegar.html |
Oh wow that is good to know. |
I use it for my babies all the time, we had no problems with mosquitoes, the grass did not turn yello, and I have 5 dogs in one back yard, the apple cider vinegar cuts down the acid levels in there bodies, and i believe the have been healthier, than before I used it, also if you are taking your dog somewhere and you are not sure of the cleanliness of the place put some apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle and the fleas etc will stay right away from them, I was very happy when i found this, i put 3 capfuls of the apple cider into my dogs drinking jug, and it also keeps the water fresh and no more scum on the bottom of the dish! |

Note: Do not feed ACV to dogs that have irritation of the intestinal tract lining. so be careful http://www.hundmeister.com/acvbenefit.htm I surely cannot use it internally for Monday b/c of all the "itis" thingies she has been diagnosed with. but I like the idea that it keeps buggies and all away! |
Well, I just ordered some Apple Cider Vinegar from the Bragg website. I tried looking for the "organic" ACV in my grocery store, but of course they didn't have the "organic" kind. I ordered the 32 oz. to try first and if I really like it then I'll probably get the 1 gallon size next time. So, I mainly want to use it to get rid of Hobbs' dandruff, help with their stinky breath, AND most importantly, to help with the fleas. How would you suggest me using it? Pour some in their drinking water? If so, how much? I have two tiny yorkies that drink out of the same bowl. Use it as a rinse after their bath? If so, do I dilute it first? |
I'd like to know, too |
I'm going to try this out. I put some in her water. Hopefully It will work. Josie has really bad breath. I like the other ideas too.  |
