For Flaky Skin-A Suggestion You may want to add a 1/2 tsp. of really good olive oil to each meal. Some of you may know about our "itching history", and the homemade diet has helped at least 80%. They love it, it's easy now, and I would never go back to dogfood. ALSO-I read on YT about parents using Pantene and Aussie on their furkids. I was a little skeptical, but I tried it, and it's a miracle! No more itching at all! My Wesley never had flakes, but he probably had dry skin anyway. I always believed in the hype about only using dog shampoo because of the ph factor, but I read also that each dog shampoo varies wildly in ph. I used Aussie Moist Shampoo and the Three Minute Miracle. It's great. |

I noticed that too when i put it in her water bottle. Now i used a stainless steel bowl and its better. i wonder why that happens |
I began using acv a few weeks ago. My older yorkie use to vomit every couple of days and she hasn't since. It is supposed to be good for many things. 1 teaspoon in a quart of water. |
I also wanted to tell you that my grandmother used it as a rinse after washing hair, mix some with water and pour over hair it is great. For dogs it is supposed to help with fleas, indigestion and even pet stains. |

Did the beer rinse a couple of times but it stunk worse than the vinegar. Never did try the egg wash...couldn't get past the fact that it was raw eggs. Good info...thanks for the measurements! |
crystals in urine My dog's ph is 6. the vet wants her ph to be closer to 7. she recently had an allergic reaction to the purina nf kidney function diet and developed a lot of problems. when she ate the food and afterwards you could tell that it was messing her up? I think she was just allergic to that particular food though. After taking her off of that food SUPER quick- like 2 days after she did better and not as bad so i changed her to canidae only after 2 days. The pet store said it sounded as if she was suffering an allergic reaction in her digestive tract. She didn't have any problems doing the switch- no vomiting, no diarrhea... just a tiny bit of stomach gurgling... and now she is completely back to normal. from what i've read here- this could aid in raising her ph. what do you think? appreciate any advice :-) |

Hi, my 6 month female yorkie was found to have crystals in her urine. So rather than to change her diet, I thought I'd get the apple cyder vinegar and put it in her water. It sounds like a great remedy, and I prefer anything natural to meds. However my male Zander who has been healthy drank some in the evening. Sometime around 3 a.m. he woke me up to go outside, his stomach sounded like thunderstorms, (normally he sleeps all night until 7 ish). He went #2 but it was smoothie, near d---a. Sooo, is this a reaction?? is this bad?? will he get back to normal on his own? will I have to give him meds to reverse this?? I can't help but wonder now if there may be an underlying matter in his intestines, stomach? Thanks for any ideas, advice. |
........the vinegar spray sounds like a great alternative to flea collars and treatments like advantage and frontline that are basically poisons...never heard of this! I do know that people who suffer from acid reflux can take a teaspoon of vinegar instead of medications to remedy it....good ol vinegar! |
Sounds like something I'd like to try. |
I have put half and half of acv and water on chester itches and it does help, and I use grizzly salmon oil for his fatty acids, I have never treid the missing link. |
I'm curious if anyone has stuck with the vinegar in the drinking water and if you have noticed any benefits in their breath, itchies, or anything else..... |
If you use it in a spray bottle and for the fleas does it not stink? |
my guess would be yes at first but the good thing about vinegar is the smell burns off eventually....I used this for accidents on the carpet....first I dabbed w sponge and water several times then put some vinegar on the sponge and dabbed w that.......it's supposed to neutralize the odor....... |
so, the benefits of using this is to help with their breathe, flea, and save our grass? Do I get this right? |
