| Vomiting Okay, Lucky seems to be vomiting almost every day. The vetrinarian checked for worms and the test just came back today negative. He has no worms, and he's up to date with his shots. I'm not sure what could be the cause of him vomiting. He only eats his dog food with occasional treats. He doesn't have any diarrhea either. What could this be? A friend of mine says that it's normal for a Yorkie to throw up often.. he said it's most likely due to running around and playing too much.. causing him to vomit. Sounds like bs to me.. some feedback would be appreciated.

| vomiting Hi Jin..is Lucky vomiting food or foam? If he actually vomits up food, perhaps he is overeating or eating too fast, playing to hard after a email..if it is foam, that can be from an upset tummy..early morning foam is usually yellow and from an empty stomach. Let us know. |

| Dexter was throwing up stomach bile (yellow/white foam) for a while...and the vet told me that something that he ate ("probably a plant or piece of a toy") irritated the lining of his stomach...he just put him on a boiled chicken, eggs, and rice diet for four days...Dexter loved it (as you can imagine) and was much better. also, the vet suggested i change his food. he did have him on science diet, but now he is on chicken soup for the pet lovers soul. |

| I went to the vetrinarian a few times and both times they prescribed some Hill's prescription food. I feel like I've been jipped of over $300. Fecal test, prescription food, carafate, etc. The problem with Lucky is that, he hates the prescription food. He's a very very picky eater. He doesn't like 80% of the doggy treats out there. His vomit is usually foamy. Sometimes it just looks like any other vomit out there.. with food chunks and everything. Sometime's it's a mixture of both. I'm not sure if playing too hard is causing it because he vomits sometimes during his sleep. During the middle of the night, I wake up to the sound of his vomiting. He just goes back to sleep after, but I just find it weird that he vomits like that. So, this is nothing serious? This is not a symptom of any disease/disorder? He's 6 1/2 months old.

| Shelby vomits sometimes in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning when her stomach is empty. It usually only happens now after a day of cleaning my floors for me It helps to get something in their tummies immediately when they wake up. |

| Lucky I would go for one more test..have his throat xrayed..there is a condition where a small pouch or pocket develops in the esophagus, food gets caught and then they vomit later. Best wishes |

| They really don't like the prescription food. Have you tried chicken & rice for a few days? He might just have an upset tummy. I would get his throat xrayed, as YorkieRose said, AT least you will be on the safe side. Hang in there, and Please keep us posted.

| My dog wouldnt eat the prescription food either when she was a puppy. I would just go back to regular food mixed with cottage cheese or shredded cheese. If you think his throat is bothering him you could give him baby food.

| my little guy is 7 1/2 months old. over the past 1-2 months he has vomited around 4-5 times. It is always early in the morning (around 2am-6am). he throws up bile only. What i have began to do is give him a little treat right before he goes to bed, and that has helped. I am assuming that he has ben throwing up because he goed to bed on an empty stomach. I feed him twice a day. Once when I wake up (8am) and then for a second time around 5-7pm. So figure is he eats between 5-7pm, and if he throws up overnight around 2-6am, that is at least 9 hours in which he has not eaten. What might also work is feeding your baby 3 times a day, but break up the portions you would usually give him/her for lunch dinner. for example, if you give your baby 2 tablespoons in the early evening, just give 1 tablespoon in the early evening and the rest before he/she goes to bed Hope this helps! |
