| Feeding Question I got Summer spayed the other week and I got her stitches removed this past Sat. When I was in there one of the girls told me to be careful from now on because they tend to gain weight after they are spayed. Summer could gain a little weight she is a little thing. I just wonder how much I should be feeding her. Right now I just fed her what I think is enough and sometimes she doesn't eat it all. So my question is how much does everyone feed their small babies. Summer is only 3.5 pds and I don't mind her gaining weight I just don't want her to get overweight. Thanks

| JMO, but if Summer doesn't eat much now - she will probably be okay in the future, too. Watch the treats more than anything. As far as the amount of food you feed, it depends on what food you are feeding her. The super premium foods only require a small amount. I can't be much help here cause I cook for Sissy. But I can tell you she gets yogurt for breakfast (a heaping tablespoon), small pieces of fruit during the day and for dinner gets boiled chicken, brown rice and veggies (only about 1 heaping tablespoon) along with a small slice of Natural Balance meat roll (lamb & rice) cut into small pieces. Sissy was 6 months old and 3 lbs 7 oz when spayed. She is now 13 months old and 4 lbs 5 oz.

| Dont get into the habit of giving table food or she will hold out for that and not eat her dog food. They can also get pancreatus from eating to much table food

| Oh no I don't give them table food. When anyone does I say something to them bc I know its really bad for them. So every now and then they get some but I don't usually allow it.

| I never really believed it was because they got spayed. I always figured it was because they are getting older and not as active as when they were puppies and going nonstop. Just keep her active all of her life and feed her well!
