| Brie not eating her normal food... Ever since we had to put our other dog down(not a yorkie by the way) out yorkie Brie was not wanted to eat her normal Royal Canin dog food. It is probablly because she misses the other dog, I do understand that. I was afraid she was going to starve to death so I boiled a piece of chicken and now that is the only thing she will eat. I even mix dog food in with the chicken and she eats around the dog food. What can I do to get her on a normal dry dog food again?? And if for some reason I am not able to get her back on the dry dog food, what types of food can I cook myself for her to eat for her to get the most nutrition that she needs? Any help would be really appreciated!!!

| Sorry about having to put your dog down. I am sure that Brie is just grieving. Before you start feeding her only human food, I would buy some canned food and mix it with her hard food twice a day and leave the hard food out the rest of the day. See if she'll eat that. Most dogs LOVE Ceasar's....it is not the best for them, but it is better than human food. Try that mixed with her hard food once in the morning and once in the evening. Then if she starts eating that, try switching to a higher quality canned food mixed with the hard food and see how that goes. |
