I was told to bring a urine sample to the vet since my puppy was urinating so frequently, but I didn't do very well. I ended up just spooning some off the top of the wee wee pad before it soaked in, but when they tested it, it was contaminated. You really need a clean sample. Anyway, they catheterized (sp?) him and that wasn't pleasant, although I think it was worse for me.

If I had to do it again, I would wait for him to pee, then lift him up and while it was in progress hold a container underneath. I don't know if it would work, but that was my thought. Also, the vet said the catheter doesn't hurt them but I wouldn't want him (or me) to go through that again.
