| how much food We just got our Morkie, 4lbs. 4 oz. He is 10 weeks old. He eats dry food and alot of it. We were wondering if we should take the food away. He isn't vomiting. He just seems too little to eat so much...........1/2 a cup throughout the day. And he looks for more. |

| ya 1/2 a cup for the day is fine, dont want to over feed, some people leave the food out for the whole day so u would put the whole 1/2 cup in the bowl but nm that she/he will eat it all up so just keep it at 1/2 a cup, |

| how about puppy almost 12 weeks old? At the last visit at the vet (10 week appt) I was told to feed him at least 1/3 cup dry food each day. But I'm not even sure he's hit the 2 lbs mark yet... He's a slow gainer and plays a lot. Usually his food is gone by nightime, and I always give him a few kibbles for the night, sometimes he eats them, sometimes not. Also, I'm not counting treats for training. How much are puppies supposed to eat? He's not fat, rather on the skinny side (you can only see with the wet fur LOL)...

My furkids Donating Member | It should say on the bag how much to feed puppies at a certain age. I have a 2 1/2 yr old yorkie that is NOT a good eater..I leave her food down all day. I just got a new puppy, she is a great eater. She usually will let me know if she is hungry by going to her bowl. I will give her kibbles when ever she wants them. She is very active, and I don't want her to burn up all her calories she takes in...You can ask your vet or one of the many breeders on YT but I don't believe a puppy will eat until they explode..Once their tummies are full they will stop...

| meals 24/7 Bogey who is 8 1/2 mths & weighs 6 1/4 lb. has always had food 24/7. I work 10 hrs. 4 days a week & couldn't "feed" him 2 or 3 meals/day. I was told by the breeder that they would eat what they needed & no more. He now eats one time a day (about 1/3 - 1/2 cup) even thought it's down all day for him.
