| What is the best food for a puppy? Hi all Yorkie Talkers... So, I'm getting my furbaby over the weekend, what food is the most recommended for puppies? Went to the store but the choices are very overwhelming.. Should I stick with whatever the breeder was feeding the pup? What are the most nutritious and healthy food choices out there? Thanks! |

| To start you should feed whatever the breeder was feeding then you can switch over by gradually adding the new food to the old. There are many good ones but some of the top of my head are Chicken Soup,Innova,Nutro,Merricks,Natural Balance,Newmans,California Natural.

| There is also Royal Canin... there was a poll done on here recently of the food you feed your puppy and RC is the top choice right now it seems. Both of the breeders I've dealt with have fed their puppies Royal Canin. There are a lot of good choices out there, just be sure that if you do switch from what the breeder is feeding them that you do it gradually, mixing the two foods together then phasing the old food out over the course of a week or so - otherwise you'll have an upset tummy to deal with.

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | welcome to YT! congrays on your new pup! I would wait and see what the breeder has the pup on, if it's a good brand that provides a well balanced diet and the pup likes it, then I would continue with that. Lillie was on science diet and I'm changing her to Nutro Ultra, but I just recieved a sample pack of Wellness and she really likes it so I may get her that next time. |

| I used to feed Jax Purina Proplan, then switched to Royal Canin. I am just feeding him the one for Yorkies, but I don't think they have one for puppies. Jax is only 5 months old so I guess I should still be feeding him puppy food, but he eats Royal Canin so much better!
