| ![]() Hi guys!! the last two days Riddick hasn't been wanting to eat.. He's never been a big eater to begin with.. So I made a hamburger, lean meat. nothing added to it and fed that to him.. he ate most of it yesterday and today he only ate a few pieces of it.. I tried feeding him his food but he wouldn't take any of it.. Last night I went down to our grocer and bought Iams puppy Select Bites it's Chicken in gravy.. he turned his nose up at it.. I got him to take some of it by breaking tiny crumb like pieces of his hamburger into it.. He licked it up and some of the gravy to, from his food and hasn't touched it since.. I gave him a tiny bit of honey off the tip of my finger this morning after his bath as he was really shivering.. I warmed the bathroom before giving him is bath as it's a chilly day today.. It's now 2:15 p.m. and he's sleeping.. he did eat maybe 3 or 4 pieces of his hamburger this afternoon at around 12:30 or so..the pieces were about the size of the top of my finger.. I don't know if the hamburger is more filling then puppy food.. I am concerned.. His appointment is his Saturday to go see the vet.. This will be his very first visit.. The vet is 45 minutes away and hubby is having to drive us as I don't drive!! One member mentioned Nutri-Cal...Can you get that in Northern Canada? ![]() I just hope that he'll eat enough to remain healthy...I just broke with my fingers some of his dry puppy food and he ate a little of it.. I have to feed him all day long as he doesn't eat enough in his 4 feeding times.. Any tips or tricks to get him to eat is appreciated.. I'm at my witts end!! Riddicks Mommy ![]() |

| ![]() My pup can be picky like this. I have given him babyfood chicken sticks cut up. He never turns away from this. Your vet will advise you to get him on hard food as soon as possible but it gives you something for those desperate times. Other than that I also feed my dog Iams pouch food with the gravy and Science diet small kibble hard he eats it decent. They can be real picky but since your dog is new you definitely want to keep him eating. Good luck!!

| ![]() How old is your baby? I have a picky eater as well, the only thing he will eat with consistency every day is Natural Balance Beef Roll. It looks like a roll of summer sausage, I cut off a slice about 1/2 to 1 inch thick, heat it in microwave for a few seconds, then dice it into small pieces, he gobbles it up. |

| ![]() When Lucy was that age she was really fussy too. We tried SOOO many different puppy foods! In the end we stuck to the science diet (I think iams?) and left the food down at all times. Eventually she got hungry enough to eat it. We did supliment it sometimes with some cooked rice and chicken (just a little bit!) and mixed it all in which she ate. In the end she just got used to eating her food! She is still a bit picky now, she is on bakers complete. Some days she will wipe the bowl clean and others she won't but if you have seen any of her pics you will see she looks like a very round barrel on little legs! I hope your little guy starts eating properly soon, I understand how worried you are!! |

| ![]() At Petco or Petsmart. It is good, well I haven't personally tried it, but it smells good. My baby eats it up every single day. It's the consistency of summer sausage and I just slice off a 1/2 inch to 1 inch section, heat it in the microwave for a few seconds, chop it up in little bite size pieces and he gobbles away. Not only beef, but they have turkey and lamb rolls as well, but my baby perfers the beef roll. |

| ![]() Riddick is eating very well now!! I tried both tips from the thread (is your puppy not eating ??) to try to get him to eat.. 1.. spray the hard food with a water mist bottle and sprinkle grated cheese (Parmesian) he liked it the first night.. wouldn't touch it the next day.. 2..1 tsp dry, mixed with 1 tsp wet, mixed with 1 tsp cottage cheese... He loves this one!! I now make it all the time for him... I told his vet this morning that I was doing this one and she told me, that was good for him!! And if he likes it he can stay on it!! So that was good news!! Thanks for all your help!! I love this forum!! hugs Riddicks Mommy!! ![]() |

| Natural Balance Beef Roll Bella wasn't earing well either so I went to Petco and go the Natural Balance Beef Roll, they sell tiny sample ones for 99 cents. She gobbled it all up. Now her lunch is the beef roll but we still give her wet w/dry for morning and night. Check online Petco or Petsmart might have it too
