We USED to leave food down for Muffie all the time and it seemed like she ate very little. I imagine the food got stale from leaving it down all the time.

Now that we feed her only twice a day, she eats much better.

Lynx's breeder said we should leave his food out all day and he can eat when he feels like it. Well, that causes him to be really picky and eat a small amount one day and a ton the next. Also, he's REALLY picky about his treats! He only likes all natural soft ones. So they're easy to chew. Anyone else have picky treat eaters? I would love to make him some treats but I don't think he'd eat them because they'd be hard!

When someone only has one Yorkie it is best to feed them twice a day. Instead of leaving it down all the time. When having more than one dog they have compitition for food and will be much better about eating. Also if they are small leaving it down all day is fine, and then feed them something for dinner warmed up with a little canned mixed into the dry. Pick it up after a half an hour and they learn to beg for it as well. I think it can all depend on the size yorkie one has, and the home situation. To know which is best......................

I leave food out all day as well for my dogs, and they dont eat all day, and sometimes in the evening I will give them some chicken.

OK,mine are differant,I leave dry out all the time and it does not matter,they wont eat it anyway,tried differant canned food,all quality types,no go,if I find a food they will eat it wont last more than 2 days and off I go to see about something else,mine like green beans,chicken,steak,turkey,no on the hamberger,they are spoiled rotton,yet do I really care NO,off I go to get a new canned food I just heard about "Halo Spots Stew" at $3 a can they just might love it,or not
