| Great post! I was wondering the same thing myself. Esme has also been eating Royal Canine, lately though, she hasn't been eating as much. I would like to see if there is another food that she might like better too! Mari

| I feed RC to Tia and Nutro Weight Loss to Sandy, so I probably am not a big help

| I found a great site from another forum i am from. http://www.mordanna.com/dogfood/ It has all the ingredients that you want to avoid, want for your doggie! I personally would stay away from: - Iams (iamscruelty.com) - Eukanuba - Pedigree - Nutro - Science Diet I personally would recommend: - Canidae - Artemis Osopure - Innova (naturapet.com) |

| I think that there are better brands that Royal Canin (if you look at the ingredient list, it's not THAT great), but Archie seems to like it so I always leave RC out for him and also give him what I consider to be super-premium food. Right now, I'm feeding him Merrick, which is one of the best dog foods you can find because it's human grade meat and fruits and veg. The canned Merrick is too rich for Archie, but I found that the dry Merrick is great! I add a little bit of water, and stick it in the microwave for 10 seconds and the water becomes a gravy. I've found only good things about Merrick--it's a relatively new dog food company and a little expensive, but if you buy dry, then it's reasonable. P.S. The dry also has bits of dehydrated peas and carrots so when you add water, it becomes whole peas and carrots. |

| Try doing a search here on yorkie talk, there have been lots of posts about food in the past. That might be why you aren't getting tons of responses.

| My bf and mom are the ones who tasted the food, they wre comparing Wellness and Royal Canin....they both thought Wellness was terrible. I tried to switch Brady to Cannidae but she wouldn't eat it...she ate one or two then turned her nose us and will on eat Royal Canin... For those who are feeding the roll, is that all you feed your dog? I recently began mixing in wet dog food as Brady just didn't seem to enjoy eating and would only eat about 10 little kibbles a meal....now with the wet food she gets really excited to eat...but I'm concerned that it's not good for her...any thoughts? I'm using a high quality holistic canned food (eagle pack puppy). I'd love to hear what you guys know! |

| Thanks...now i know i am not alone with my crazy tasting habits!! I have heard the Royal Canin tastes really good before...i don;t remember even though Mojo did eat it before but he hated it...thats when i switched to Eukanuba, then he lost interest and i bought Nutro..then again he got bored, went back to eukanuba and the same happen...i hope he sticks to cannidae now...i think we are part of the problem, we spoil these lil babies too much |

| I feed the Natural Balance Beef Roll which my baby eats morning and night and snacks in between with it. As far as dry, I'm still battling with this one. He ran out of the RC which he hardly touched anyway, so I bought some of the Natural Balance Dry (thinking if he likes the beef roll so much, he'll like this dry), HE WON'T EVEN SNIFF IT, so I'm back to square one as far as the dry. Was thinking of trying Nutro Puppy, or???????? Isn't there a dry food out there that tastes great and they will eat all the time? This is so frustrating. I'm glad Petco let's you return dry food that they won't eat. |
