No Longer a Member | For owners of dogs that eat their poop I was looking at some literature on rickets in puppies for our shelter and ran across this. It says biotin is a cure for eating feces. heres what it says and then I'll post the site for any of you that may want to read it. Biotin is a cure for dogs that eat their feces; they may be looking for this vitamin, which is produced to some extent in the intestines. Raw egg whites contain an enzyme that depletes biotin. For this reason, eggs fed to pets should be cooked to deactivate this enzyme. Can read more on this here http://www.paw-rescue.org/PAW/PETTIP...p_vitamins.php |

| Hmmm....this sounds interesting. This is a bad habit of Dolce and I've tried many things to get her to stop. I even got Forbid from the vet, but that didn't deter her. I've thought of trying meat tenderizer (as I've seen people on here say that works), but I'm just concerned about that being healthy for her. The article doesn't say what biotin really is or where to get it....does anyone know?

| Tristina, it is not meat tenderizer. It is ACCENT a flavor enhancer- good old MSG that is in Chinese food. It is similar in chemical make-up to Forbid.. |

| I just recently started giving my 5 month old this stuff called stop...The breeder that I got him from told me about it..The company is called Revival Animal Health. It's called STOP . You just feed it to them for like 2 weeks and then it should stop them..I've been giving it to Tiny and he hasn't eaten any lately...The stuff is only $12.00 that includes shipping and everything. I would defanitly suggest it to anyone! |
