| Eating habits My Yorkie is gonna turn 3 months in a few days and in her 2 months of being here she has eaten her dog food without a problem. Unfortunately, I noticed my daughter slipped her a piece of bread b4 and she has eaten crumbs off the floor. I know I have given my big dogs human food in the past, but I'm not sure I would want my Yorkie feasting on human food at all. Will a small dog get sick from eating certain human foods or is it a risk no matter what kinda dog. I want her to stick to her doggy food and doggy treats not human food, but my 3 yr old wants to feed her from her plate when I'm not there no matter what I tell her. |

| generally, your yorkie should not feel sick at all eating human food, but check out the thread on Toxic food and plants so you know what to avoid and to be sure he is safe all the time. Be careful, if they have a habit of eating too much human food, they tend to be quite picky and might not enjoy their boring kibbles. |

| Our Punkin only eats human food - we do ensure that it's healthy and that it does not have additives etc. If your dog is not used to human food then you would only want her to have small amounts at a time. A big change in food can cause a tummy upset. The toxic food thread is a good place to check out.
