| Luna update...and hair/coat question... Hello everyone! I've been busy 'round here lately, between my baby's surgery and school, it's hard to get things finished! lol Anyhow, she is doing so wonderful! Of course, wanting to jump and play ALL THE TIME!! Her incision is clearing up so well! There's only a bit of swelling but not much, she gets her stitches off tomorrow or Monday, but most probably Monday. Other news! Luna has FINALLY learned to go on the wee wee pads BY HERSELF! I guess since she's been more confined lately and always uses the wee wee pads in her area she got accustomed to only go there. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! I am so SO HAPPY! I even tested it out today. I switched her area to the computer room because we need the guest bathroom for my grandparents (that's where Luna use to be)...and I left her in the new area by herself with the wee wee pads at a distance. When I came back to check on her, there were 2 pee pees on the PADS! Yay for LUNA!! Well, I have a question. I noticed lately that Luna's hair seems DRY, mainly on the body. My question is, is this still puppy hair? Will her coat, eventually, change completely? Her face and legs seem a lot healthier than her body. I have a feeling that it's because she had many many knots as a puppy, I think the groomer had to shave them off...so I'm not sure if that really affected it. Is there such a thing as a rough coat yorkies? If not that's what I think Luna may be...unless it is puppy hair...anyone know? btw, luna is now 7 months old.

| Way to go Luna! My Yorkie's hair is the same way on her body, very dry. She is 2 1/2 and it has a dry feeling that mats up very easy!! I just took her and had her groomed. They cut her hair on her body approximately 3 inches long and it is so much easier to take care of. I have heard that by 1 year your Yorkie's coat is the way its going to be. I've heard of cotton and wooley coats. By the way she is a beautiful dog. |

| Thank you for replying! See, I don't think Luna's hair mats fast, then again I brush her hair every 2 days. Don't know if that's what keeps it from matting. I do notice however, that her hair is starting to get thicker. Hmm, not sure what that means, guess I'll wait till she is 1 years old. Oh, Luna says thank you for the comment! :P
