				   | I brush Dudley and Dinkeys teeth about two times a week. Then on bath day, I "really" brush their teeth. I use a disposable toothbrush, and a finger toothbrush. I use chicken flavored tooth paste. If your furbaby doesn't like having his/her teeth brushed (mine aren't crazy about it) start with a finger tooth brush.....or even use your finger just to get them used to the idea of having something in their mouth.

				   | I don't brush Tootie's teeth as often as I should but when I do I use a Q-Tip. My vet suggested it because she is so small and the tiny toothbrushes were too big for her mouth. I do recognize the benefit to brushing often though. We got Tootie at about 5 years old and she has had almost all of her teeth pulled due to decay. She only has 4 front teeth left but she still eats her hard food!! |

				   | The best way is to start earlier, but if your baby is already a grown up. I would try to make him/her as tired as you can, that way they won't fight back as strong as they will with full energy. Try to buy a toothpaste with your baby favorite flavor; Dharma loves vanilla, I heard they comes in a lots of different flavors. I personally start with the upper teeth, after is done I price her with lots of love and a very tiny piece of treat. Then I try the bottom ones followed by a small treat. After all the teeth are done I Price her with a chewing bone. My best friend has a totally different way to brush her baby teeth. She will let YOYO bite something big such as a bone or toy. She will then make her bite the bone in different way so she can gets to brush every teeth. I have seen her do it. Her dog thinks they are plying, which is good. I am doing ok so far but if Dharma gives me trouble I will definitely try this one. I hope that help.., Good Luck everyone. Dharma |

				   | I try to brush my babies teeth every day. Sometimes I get plain lazy and miss a day or 2, but I've been really good about it ever since I saw a "how to" post on YT. I can't remember who posted it or I would definately give them credit because it changed my dogs dental life. They used to fight me and now they are much more tolerant. The poster got the directions from one of those traveling groomers who showed her/him what to do. Using a small tooth brush-I bought a toothbrush for a baby, it is very small and even has shorter bristles-spray a solution of 50% mouthwash and 50% water. If your dogs can't tolerate it, you can dilute it even more. The spray bottle they recommended was one of those little hairspray testers, but what I do is use a little medicine cup and "dip" the toothbrush into the solution. Right now, I'm using mint Plax and they don't seem to have any problems. Holding your dog securely, but not forcefully (I just put mine under my left arm and use my right hand for the brush) I put the brush along side of the teeth and under their "cheek" so to speak. Sometimes I have to kind of lift the "cheek" to get the brush in place. They let me brush those molars and don't fight me at all. I do both sides. Then (at this point I set the dog down on the counter), putting your index finger near their nose and you're thumb on their bottom "lip". Pull up the front "lip" exposing their front teeth (it kind of looks like they're smiling) and canines. I brush them. Quick and painless. Before I started doing it this way, I had tried doggie toothbrushes, the finger brushes, q-tips and even a three-sided tooth brush. They fought me with everything in them. I think the real key was the better toothbrush and having a "system". I used to use the beef or chicken flavored toothpaste, but the mouthwash solution seems to be doing better and even freshens their breath. Hope this helps someone as much as it helped me and my doggies.

				   | Yep, Sweetie do not think much about brushing her teeth. As long as I got some of the tooth past in her mouth I knew it would help. We are doing better now, the more we brush the better I get at it.Sweetie is going to live a long time and I want her to have good, healthy, teeth

				   | I brush my girls teeth, clean their ears and bath them once a week. Plus they get dental care bones during the week.

				   | I brush Trixie's teeth about every other day. She's gotten to like it. I just have to show her toothbrush and say 'Trix, you want me to brush your teeth?' and she jumps right on my lap. I guess the poultry flavored toothpaste helps

				   | We brush in this house! I'm going to try this new paste called Life for Teeth. My friend uses it on her Yorkie and Akita w/ phenominal results. It comes in a spray as well, but I figure since I'm already brushing, I may as well continue! You can find it at: tobysnaturalpets.com Also, I go to the nearest super market and buy "soft bristled" baby tooth brushes for Yorkies. They're cheaper than the "doggy" toothbrushes, last just as long, are softer on the gums (but still do the job) and they typically come in really cute, cute colors or characters on them! |

				   | To be honest, I’ve gotten real lazy with Ginger’s teeth…I couldn’t tell you when the last time I tried to brush them was. I need to get on that. She gets lots of dental chews though, and I think those probably do a better job then my feeble attempts to cram that brush in her mouth, while she gobbles down the paste. That weird, pork flavored toothpaste doesn’t really seem like something I want her digesting.
