| 100% Beef Liver Treat - is it bad for yorkies if given too much? I try to give my Tiger 100% natural dog foods as much as I can and so while I was at costco, I came across this big package of 100% dried liver treats. This is the first time I have gotten dog food/treat at Costo but the ingredients at the back caught my attention . . . it says 100% dried beef liver. That's it! Plus could not resist the price of $9.99/bag (a fairly big size) . I used to give Tiger Bil-Jac and I know the ingredients isn't just beef liver so this is a good thing right. It gives out information on how much to give our dogs and for small ones such as yorkies, it says 3-5 daily. Is too much of this pure beef liver (all protein) bad for our small dogs? I have been crumbling it and mixing it with Tiger's Innova and he just loves it. . . so am wondering if It is okay to go over the 3-5 a day recommended dosage and give him more. |

| All things are relative. Too much of anything is unhealthy. I would think that several english pea sized snippets of beef liver per day wouldn't be harmful unless 1) your baby already had health problems (in which case you wouldn't be feeding the beef liver to begin with) or 2) the snacks interferred with normal meals. I use the english pea size as an example because that is what I feel is an appropriate size treat for my guys. Others might differ |

Others might differ[/QUOTE] The size of these beef liver treats are bigger - about 1/2" per side - they look squarish. They do crumble though so I have been mixing one into her plate per meal (Tiger gets 3 meals). I just noticed on the packaged too that it is 100% preservative free. So the price for so much is really a great deal! |
