Tucker stuck in "out" position When I got home from work last night Tucker's little penis was stuck in the "out" position. It looked like red bubble and he was walking funny & seemed uncomfortable. It went away after a few minutes, but I was concerned. Does anyone know what was going on or if I should be concerned?? (I just realized that I wrote "little penis", don't let Tuck find out I wrote that!!) |

Too funny - we were joking that he was "excited" that he is getting a new girlfriend in a week! He was thinking about her! |
Maybe he was having a party with a toy or something (humping away)! :eyetearss :eyetearss :eyetearss :eyetearss |
Hopefully this does not happen often but be on the lookout for this. Some male dogs do have a medical condition (I can't think of the name for it) but one of my rescue's had to have surgery to correct this. Their penis needs to stay in place or there could be a lot of infections and yes it can be uncomfortable for them. If this is the first time you have seen this then I suspect he was just having a little fun with the stuffed animal or pillow :p |
I don't have males but have read their little Lipsticks can do this - I won't make all the jokes that came to mind - but as long as the turtle went back in his shell - I wouldn't worry - he was probably entertaining himself while you were gone. :) |

My little guy has done this before...after having is way with his blanket!! I have seen it stuck out where it is almost touching the floor (not kidding, freaked me out) and the vet said that normally they stay inside a female for awhile, which he can't do with his blanket... I too have seen him where it did not go all the way back in....it was like a round knob sticking out. I had to do a damp warm cloth to get some lint off and it went back in....don't recall how long it was out, but it wasn't more than half an hour....... What can be done about this? I too would like to hear more..... |

Max the "expert" Oh my we have had this at least once a month. The first time.....I panicked and took him to the vet. $100 later.....shots etc....I take care of him myself now. I use personal lubricant and try to gently work the skin back over his penis....if it is not working....I use a cool cloth on him until his penis begans to shrink....then with lubricant I can gently pull his skin back over it. If it stays out too long it becomes very dry....and can interfere with emptying his bladder....so you need to help him with the problem. Hope this helps. Max and Maggie's MOM |

OMG...........This thread is TOTALLY freaking me out. I have 2 male dogs and have yet to see this. I am so melodramatic that you can bet I would be a mess. This so much makes me re-think my ideas about getting a male dog. Next one will definitel be a girl. And to think I already live in a male dominant house and their "hormones" and now I have to worry about the male dogs also. My gosh!!!! If or when it ever gets stuck in the out position, I will have to tell my husband how to do the treatment because I won't be able to get past it. And he will think I am one crazy person when I make THAT suggestion. Does neutering help this "condition"? |
OH , I have laughed until I am crying! You guys have made my night. :eyetearss |
