				   | We just got our blood and urine results back from our most recent visit. Vet said she would diagnose her with Stage 1 kidney failure based on the results. The key indicators are just slightly elevated. Coco (seems to a popular Yorkie name) is behaving and acting normally. She is currently on Purina hydrolyzed food (both wet and dry) and has been for several years. She also takes cyclosporine and incurin and has been on both for several years. She seems to be tolerating them well. This is from an intestinal problem (cyclosporine and hydrolyzed food) and an inability to hold her urine (incurin). Regarless, she's doing great now and has made a major recovery from about 4 years ago when one vet told me she had about a month to live. Vet recommends moving her from Purina hydrolyzed to Royal Canin hydrolyzed Veterinary Diet Canine Multifunction Renal Support. I suppose I'll give it a try. Has anyone else experienced similar problems, tried out this new food, anything like that? I'm not terribly distraught right now just because she's doing so well. I'm more worried about delaying any further kidney deterioration and keeping her around as long as possible. She's just over 11 years old. |

				   | I wish you and Coco all the best! Health issues are distressful.
