| ![]() Is the Farmers Dog a good dog food? It is advertised on TV. It looks like people food and is fresh food/ I was feeding him Chi Dog food which is very good and also fresh people food for dogs but I cannot aford it anymore, so I am trying to find a fresh cooked dog food (real food) for Milo. I think he has IBS and does bleed when he poops so he needs a really good food, but I am looking for something I can afford TIA |

| ![]() Welcome back I can't advise / suggest a food. My concern is, you say "you think he has IBS and does bleed when he poops". Was he diagnosed by your vet that he has IBS? Because we cannot assume these things. Blood in stools is a big, a huge sign that something is wrong. I strongly advise you to get Milo to your vet with a fresh stool sample and tested for IBS, and speak to your vet about a proper food. In severe cases of IBS, blood may show in the stools. If you haven't already taken Milo to the vet I implore that you do so ASAP.

| ![]() I would make sure it is WSAVA compliant. I would want to know there is actual science behind their dog food with vets on staff as well as feeding trials. Those homemade like food brands have been popping up every where lately and I have seen many many have no science behind them and there have been many recalls of these brands. Have you been to the vet to make sure that is the reason for the bleeding? If not you really need to because there could be many things life threatening that are causing that. If your dog truly does have a health condition prescription food from the vet is your best option.

| ![]() Hi all, Thanks so much for responding. Yes I have been to two vets. Both have recommended Chi Dog which is manufactured in San Diego by a Vet. The food is good but costs me $75 a week. I am a senior citizen and can no longer afford this food. I am giving him pumpkin with the food, sometimes white rice and a folate. When he is on this prescription he does not bleed. I am looking for a high quality dog food that will not bankrupt me so he continues to do well. Thanks again |

Do you get Big Country Raw Dog food in the States? Here in Toronto I use Breeders Blend. For 16pounds of raw under $50.00 You might want to try one single pound and see how he does

| ![]() Hello gemy, Milo is not any longer allowed to have raw although he had been eating it all his life. Both Vets stated that it was too hard on his system and they now want him to have cooked food. But thanks so much for trying to help. ![]() |

| ![]() I heard about it, but I haven't tried it yet. As far as I know, it is a good company, and their dog food is pretty popular among dog owners. I feed my blue nose pitbull only with natural home food, and I don't want to teach him to eat exceptional food. But if your dog is already trained to eat such food. I don't think there is a problem with teaching him that. Find more on the internet if you are interested. |
