| Hair Loss and aging I have a 15 year old 4.5 lb furbaby who has been losing her hair for the past 6-8 months. Her neck and back are almost completely hairless. Her head hair is getting thin as well as her legs. We live in New England so she has to wear a little tee shirt and a sweater to keep her warm plus her blanky. I don't know if she is lacking a vitamin that is causing this. Does anyone know of a vitamin She had surgery on both hind legs when she was under a year old and I have noticed her balance is off and she sometimes has a hard time walking and squatting to go pee. She sometimes falls over. She also has cataracts in both eyes which bothers her more at night than during the day. Has anyone had this happen to their aging furbaby? Can anyone give me some advice on how to help my baby feel better? Thank you |

| You really need to see your vet for a thorough examination. Both the hair loss and the lack of coordination could be symptoms of Cushings Disease in an older dog. If she has Cushings (or any other medical issue, really) she needs proper vet care to prevent her condition from deteriorating. |

| You need to go to the vet. Cushings and hypothyroidism both can cause hair loss. Arthritis can cause pain in her legs and she needs pain medication for that. It sounds like she needs a really good check up and blood work by the vet.
