| ![]() Sophie was a picky eater but she also had some weird habits. She hated wet food but had dental issues to she couldn’t chew hard food that well (she wasn’t cleared for surgery or we would have had her teeth fixed). We used to grind her kibble in a coffee grinder every morning and would feed her 4 times a day by putting a scoop in her bowl, adding water and sprinkling liver treat powder on it. She then wouldn’t eat unless I sat on the floor beside her and mixed it around with my finger so it was kind of chunky. After she licked the middle of the bowl she would bark at me until I used my finger and swiped it all from the edges and put the rest back in the middle for her to finish. This had to be done every time she ate, or she would just stand beside the bowl and grunt until I sat down beside her and swirled it around with my finger. Ugh I miss her 🙁 Our new yorkie is just picky about food and treats but doesn’t seem to have any weird quirks to eating but is weird about taking treats. He will take some from our hand but usually only wants them if they are thrown to him on the floor...then he waits for a second one and then usually eats the biggest one fallowed by the smallest one. Little butthead has us wrapped around his paws and gets double the treats (we’ve learned to just break them in half now lol). |

| ![]() Good to see my babies aren't the only ones with weird eating habits! Neither one will eat when we are not home and when they do grab food from the bowl (they share the same bowl) they both take it in the other room to eat . What cracks me up the most is how they eat. They both point their nose toward the ceiling to chew their food looking up.
