| Black patches on tummy Jack has black spot on belly, hes 7 yrs old next month Aug 24. We lived alone until he was 6 he never marked anywhere until we moved in with a year old Wheaton poodle. Now he wears a belly band with a poise pad for 9 months. Only when around the other dog. Not all day or when hes on my lap or when we go outside. I'd say an hour tops, bc I take it off and on. Wonder about the black blotches? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Many dogs can get black freckles on their tummies. Other dogs get these black patchy/spotty areas on tummy due to inflammation. If you're doing belly bands, inflammation would most definitely be possible due to the constant exposure to urine on his belly skin. I would try using some hydrocortisone cream there.

| Black patches on tummy My yorkie used to have them. The vet couldn’t explain why. I started home cooking for her a year ago and they went away. |
