| Fabian was diagnosed with luxating patella during his one-year checkup. It was not totally unexpected as he's over 8 pounds with short legs and habitually bounces on his hind legs a few times on the dining room tile at night when we get home from work. On the upside, he has really strong legs as we walk him outdoors for small distances (4-5 laps around our cul de sac) several times a day. Lots of the info we're finding online seems out of date. We know we want to keep him moving and that he'll let us know if he's having problems. We want to give him Omega 3 oil and Vitamin C and will be conferring with the vet as to brands and dosage. And on the non-traditional side, I'll be giving him reiki. His diet is very clean: just Fromm's Adult Gold (with a drizzle of olive oil in the AM) and boiled organic chicken. Other than doing this and monitoring the situation, what else can we be doing as responsible Yorkie parents? He's neutered, so he won't be breeding. |

| Grade 1. We are not actually supplementing yet. We will be talking to the vet next month about supplements and dosage. We are making ongoing movement/exercise a priority, so long as it doesn't aggravate the situation. Keeping him moving is not a problem! <g> |

| Why would you give Vitamin c though? I have never heard that for LP so I am curious.
