| ![]() My almost 4 month old pup is constantly scratching, I feed her 4 health gluten free puppy food and gluten free treats. Yet she is constantly scratching and when she gets up from nap or just playing she will lay flat on her belly and pull herself across the floor to scratch her belly. I bathe her in an oatmeal shampoo. I asked the vet but he said she could be just growing and have dry skin. Also, How do I keep her from eating hers and the cats poo? I pick it up as soon as she finished but she turns around and eats it before I can bend down to get it. It is so frustrating. |

| ![]() Food allergies are very rare and allergies in general are pretty rare for puppies so I think something else might be going on. Gluten can actually have important nutrition in it. Oatmeal shampoo I have been told can make itching worse. Could she have fleas? Obviously something is bothering her and itching makes them miserable so I would opt for a different vets opinion.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() First, stop the Oatmeal shampoo immediately - every Vet Dermatologist will tell to *not* use it, ever. Try this, instead. That is what many Vet Derm offices sell or recommend. Buy Solid Gold's SEP (Stop Eating Poop) and use that. And elevate the litter box immediately off the floor. If she is eating cat poo, then she is eating cat litter along with it -- just imagine how many irritants are being ingested alone in that!!! Also, get fish oil supplement formulated for dogs such as this, as this will moisturize the skin.
