| Odor help I asked a question a while back concerning an odor that has developed. My little girl is now 8 years old and has been on Apoquel for 4 years. She is allergic to all grasses where we live. Recently, I asked a question about an odor that has developed with her. I got her to the vet and basically what they told me was that she needed Omega's in her diet. So, she gets this daily and has been on this several months. The odor reminds me of stinky feet. She gets a bath every week and the vet told me that she needed a bath every other day until this got under control. I had been bathing her with a Neem shampoo until the vet told me to bath her with Sebazole. Said this was the best shampoo for this type problem. No help. Her hair is kept short and she has a dandruff issue also with this. I am absolutely at my wits end with this one. When I give her a bath, within 2 days she is stinking again. She still scratches, even with the Apoquel. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this odor??? I have already been through all the allergy testing about 4 years ago, so we know what she's allergic to. I can't imagine this odor being due to age. If it is, then we will just have to live with it. I appreciate your help. |

| Hello! I have a 9 year old Yorkie and he doeskin smell so i would say its not due to age, i'm not familiar with the issue you are having but maybe a second vet opinion could help? Maybe the dandruff is due to how often she is being bathed. |

| Switch to cytopoint it’s a lot better with almost no side effects for allergies. Your positive it’s not her breath right?

| I pretty sure it must have to do with allergies.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | To me, this sounds like systemic candida - I would ask to treat with something oral for 4-6 weeks specifically for oral candida like Diflucan. Also, ask for something SUPER simple like a multi-site skin scraping - grow it out in culture x10 days to SEE what's actually there, for goodness sake! So simple! Why has the vet not done this?! Maybe see another vet? Also, what are you feeding for kibble? You should not be giving anything w/ grains or corn in it.
