| ![]() Sophie is back to her usual game of hating her food. We've tried numerous different brands and right now she only seems to enjoy Fromm's Hasen Duckenpfeffer. My concern is the 1.13% phosphorous level in it. Her current food has 0.8 and I trough that was around the level she should be at. But that's the issue...she won't eat anything but this one at the moment. She had normal blood work in August but she is 7.5years old. Is it safe to feed her this food or should the hunt continue? |

| ![]() That's not terribly high. I've seen some that are 2% which IMO is *definitely* too high. I feed Acana Duck which is about 8% ash and has a 0.8% phosphorous level. Fromm typically has low ash formulas, I'm surprised that formula is a bit higher. I don't think it's anything to be concerned over though but maybe someone with more expertise can chime in.

| ![]() My fussy one has been getting 1/2 tsp of cottage cheese and a little water mixed in her kibble for this last month. It is working- with no kibble change! |

| ![]() Completely forgot about this post lol I emailed the company and it ended up that the as fed percentage was a little higher than what is on the bag. But we've got her back to somewhat eating her usual food. For some reason she doesn't want the small breed kibbles and prefers the "normal" size ones. We aren't sure if maybe the other bag went stale or the little kibbles are hard to bite with her broken teeth. For now, she is back to her usual food. (She recently broke two teeth in the back and had an ulcer. The medicine cleared up the ulcer but we still planned for her to have a dental to have them removed but our vet deemed surgery unsafe for her at this moment so as long as she is eating something and not in pain she wants to wait until sometime next year. Just putting that out there in case anyone wonders why it seems we are just ignoring the broken teeth issue) Last edited by danniko; 12-21-2016 at 06:51 PM. |
