| Anal glands can fill up again rapidly, sometimes within a day. Some dogs express them naturally, while other dogs need them expressed manually on a regular basis. If your dog is professionally groomed, chances are that the groomer has been manually expressing the glands. A change in grooming schedule may have brought on a problem. Usually when a dog becomes accustomed to manual expression, the dog will need it done manually all the time. A diet change may also be contributing to new problems. Diet can influence the glands. Might want to check in again with your vet to discuss the problem.

| I thought of one more thing. My boys express their glands naturally, but they only do it outdoors, and not when they use the piddle pad indoors. They need the excitement of walks to stimulate them. If you aren't already doing walks, maybe try this to see if it would help your little girl.

| How is her stool? If it's on the soft side, then the glands can't express on their own properly. You might want to change up proteins in her food, to see if there's any improvement (my vet mentioned that it could be food allergy related). What protein is she eating now?

| Anal Gland issues are caused by Allergies, either food or environmental like seasonal. Spring & Fall are the most common times for seasonal issues with anal glands. |
