Anal glands can fill up again rapidly, sometimes within a day. Some dogs express them naturally, while other dogs need them expressed manually on a regular basis.
If your dog is professionally groomed, chances are that the groomer has been manually expressing the glands. A change in grooming schedule may have brought on a problem. Usually when a dog becomes accustomed to manual expression, the dog will need it done manually all the time.
A diet change may also be contributing to new problems. Diet can influence the glands.
