| Diarrhea after spay I had my ladybug spayed on Wednesday and Friday and Saturday had diarrhea. I read this is normal, due to her body getting rid of the anesthesia. Well she just had a little diarrhea and there was blood in it. Since being spayed she's whined and cried pretty much all day. I contribute some of this from being crated and wearing the dreaded cone. I gave her the 3 days of pain meds they gave me for her. Im concerned about the blood. She didn't eat at all Saturday and Friday she ate some chicken and rice and some of her dog food. Thursday she only ate the chicken and rice. I put some chicken broth on that. Any advice? Please? |

| Now she's thrown up. It was clear watery fluid, about a couple tablespoons. Not much. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If she has no appetite, it's a sign something is def wrong. What does the incision look like? Look for redness, pain, heat, and swelling - if those are all there, could be infection. I would let her out of her crate and allow her to settle/relax - see if she is still crying. A little blood isn't the biggest deal in many cases, but we can't say for sure here. The not eating is the biggest concern as dogs only do that when they're really not feeling right. Is your vet open today?

| She just ate! Talk about being happy. Now I will wait to see what her poo looks like when she goes. Keeping my fingers crossed. |
