My little 4 month old yorkie girl has developed flakes around her ears, on the tips of her ears and on her muzzle. We feed a grain-free chicken dog food by Whole Earth, and use the "Silky Show" shampoo/conditioner by Espree. Do you know what she has and what is best to cure it? Perhaps a dandruff shampoo or supplement I should be giving?

Many puppies just go through phases where they have some flaky skin; it usually resolves over time. One thing you could try is supplementing her food w/ some oil - either fish oil or coconut oil or camelina oil. The fish oil I like best is Ark Naturals Royal Coat.

Ok thanks, I'll try the coconut oil as a supplement. Do you think it would help to use topically too? What brand of shampoo/conditioner do you use for your fur babies?
