| skin and coat Hi all I'm all new here and pretty lost on where to actually ask my question but I need some big help. My yorkie girl has a medium length coat and she needs to have a Bath every week as she is a wild girl who loves the out doors and playing with others animal's and dogs and gets rather dirty. That's the reason she needs that weekly bath however I know this is not good for her as it strips the oils and make the skin dry. Is there any way I can possibly keep her coat luxury soft and shine without loosing those oils. I'm using a brand called tropiclean as her shampoo and conditioner at the moment and do add coconut oil in her yorkie food daily and spray a little on her coat. Any other advise will be amazing as her coat is starting to look a little dull. Last edited by Aylisha; 07-23-2016 at 10:39 PM. |

| It's actually not bad for them if your using a good shampoo. You might want to try a different brand. You can also look for omega 3 to add to her food.

| I am under the impression those grooming for show have to bathe them every four to seven days. I definitely prefer Lilah get a weekly bath, I do not like it if we go longer than that. She has a great coat and does not get dried out, right now we are using earth bath mango tango shampoo with bio groom coat creme rinse and we use a grooming spray called bio groom show sheen.

| Hello Alyssa and Lilah thank you so much for your response to my question I'm researching all the kinds of shampoo everyone has suggested but I think it will be best for me to just try them all out. Thank you once again. |

| Probably it is in your dog's genes. Some dogs coat do not fade even though you bathe them regularly. |
