| Adult Yorkie Growing Again?! Hello! So to begin with, we're not really certain how old my Katie is. She was rescued from an older man who had developed severe dementia, he had many dogs and had become neglectful and abusive when his family finally stepped in to find new homes for them. They gave me papers with her, which stated she was 5 years old. But I later realized she still had her baby coloring then, which changed soon after I got her, so I would guess she was only a few months old, and they got the papers mixed up with which dog they went with. The vet said he thought she was young, but her teeth were awful and falling out from malnutrition, so it was hard to tell. At the time she weighed 7 pounds, but she was skin and bones, with her chest swollen with heartworms. That was 2.5 years ago, she recovered her health quickly, put on healthy weight and grew a bit. LOL at first I had to coax her to eat, but she came home from her spay surgery hungry, and has been hungry nonstop ever since! So, now that her background is covered, my question. I swear she has grown in the last six months. This is 2 years after I got her. I've never measured her height and length, but it's not just me- my Mom commented that she seems to be growing. She comes to work with me every day, and customers I hadn't seen in months commented on her growth. Google has failed me. Do any of you know of anything that could make an adult dog, who is a minimum of 3 years old, grow? I swear she's not just getting fatter or fluffier. Vet just gives me a funny look, goes "hmm..." and continues with what he was doing. Thanks! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hmmm...I just don't know either. Many adult dogs will "fill in", but they don't really continue to grow. I wish you'd measured her dimensions prior bc that would be super interesting. I'm as mystified as the vet!
