2yr Yorkie Lifting Leg in house???? Hello All, my 2yr male yorkie has recently started lifting his leg in the house. He is kinda indoor trained but occasionally I take him outside if the weather is good. But mainly he goes on the wee wee pad. He does have accidents frequently but I'm more concerned about the leg lifts. I don't know why he is doing this now. He is the only dog in the house. I really don't want to get him diapers. Anyone experience this issue. Also, I got him neutered at 9 months.

Put a belly band on him so he doesnt ruin your furniture or walls or what ever else he wants to mark. Belly bands are adorable, and they will keep your furniture and stuff from being ruined. He has been neutered, so.........lucky you.........neutering had no positive effect on him marking his territory. Put a belly band on him......he may not like it enough that, rather than pee indoors into his "diaper", he will wait until the belly band comes off and he gets to run outside!

Thanks for the response. I did also think of the belly band, but had my doubts bc 1) he currently pees on the wee wee pad, 2) he pees very often (not like my other yorkie who I would just walk 2x day outside, and 3) I was concerned with him pee-ing and soiling himself around his belly area and then it becoming infected. Do you think he'll hold it til he goes outside or is it ok for him to go pee in the belly band?

I have belly bands on all my males....I just wash their belly area with warm wash cloth and "peri wipes" from the medical supply store....that is done between pads during the day...then at night, before bed, they all go in crates and the belly bands come off. Their tummies are washed well with warm water and peri-care spray.....works well for us....never had any issues with my males peri areas....

So for those who mention they have belly bands does that mean that they wear them throughout the day and go pee in them as opposed to the wee wee pads? I like the belly band idea better than diapers. Let me know. I'm concerned bc my yorkie is small about 4.5 lbs and he goes all day on the wee wee pad. Do the belly bands absorb per well?
