| Picky eater! Help I have a 5 1/2 month old puppy. I started him on Purina pro plan focus small breed puppy, he quit eating it so I tried Wellness small breed puppy, won't even taste it. Just sniffs it and walks away. So now I'm trying blue buffalo freedom grain free small breed puppy. He may eat 3 or 4 kibble pieces then just refuses to eat anymore. I try to be firm but I don't want him sick so I end up giving him plain tuna (in water not oil) or plain hamburger or boiled eggs but I want him to eat something nutritional but he refuses to cooperate! What do I do? His weight is fine (3.8 lbs) |

| I am sure there are yt members who know more about this then I do... but I can tell you what I have done. I would mix a little bit of the egg white in his kibble... or just pour a bit of the tuna water over the kibble. I have read Parmesan cheese-- just a little -- grated is ok. Of course I would clear this with your vet. I also would say get the best kibble you can afford. I feed my babies FROMM now. If you go to a pet store that specialized healthier foods they could recommend to you Read the labels just like humane food

| I stumbled on a way to get him to eat dog food. I have to let him share lol. I normally separate Buddy to feed him, I have a Boxer and the other day I gave up and gave him my yorkies food (since Buddy wouldn't eat it) and Buddy ran up to the bowl and ate with the boxer. So I tried the same thing at a different feeding and just like that my Buddy eats 3 times a day. Vet says it's social eating lol. |

| It is normal for our dear pets to be picky eaters at times. Mine was picky eater when she was 5 months old so I consulted her vet. She recommends vitamins and I also let her eat scramble eggs once a week. Last edited by dannbarbery; 06-20-2016 at 03:27 AM. |

I also feed Fromm grain-free kibble (rotating between Acana, Orijen, and Fromm each year).
