| Rectal polyp? Hi all. I just adopted an 8yo recently NM yorkie. II was told by the rescue group that when they got him he looked like he may have a small polyp on his anus. But when they took him to get neutered it was no longer there. Recently he had a bought of loose stool and I noticed the red pea size red area. I wiped it with a cotton cloth and cold witch hazel to soothe it. It did have a small amount of blood on the cotton balls. He doesn't strain to have a BM, his stool isn't mucousy or bloody, he doesn't scoot his bum on the floor altho I did seem him trying to lick at it one time. Has anyone else encountered anything like this with their pups? Thanks btw hes going to vets today but im a nervous wreck! |

| Vet visit Just got back from vets. It's definitely some type of mass which is not too uncommon with intact males. He was just neutered 2 months ago. Most are called perianal adenomas. These are usually benign but can be adenocarcinomas. The vet isn't quite sure the approach to leave it alone & watch to see if it gets bigger or biopsy it she is going to consult with a vet surgeon who sees these kind of lesions more and will think about it and give me her suggestions. So for now I'm not worrying about it unless I have too. She said its nothing emergent so calm done😳. She knows how I get! Thanks for asking! |
