| Seasonal Allergies What do you give your yorkie to help? The vet rec'd children's benedryl, but wanted to hear other suggestions |

| My vet recommended Zyrtec and it has worked really well. Benadryl only works a short time so you have to give it several times a day.

| My vet only gave me the dose for my yorkies weight and their bigger so you would probably need to ask your vet about it.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would not use Benadryl - it does not work well for allergies in dogs. Also, it has a very short half life - so, to remain therapeutic, you have to give it 4x a day - a total pain! Vet Derms recommend either Claritin or Zyrtec as these are both 24 hr meds (once a day).
