| itchy eyes a little red above them I have did some reading and see it could be an allergy. She had allergys before scratching on her sides until red and the vet said use benedryll for kids and it helped. Here lately (about a week now) she rubs her eyes a lot and rubs them on the couch etc. I plan on taking her to the vet as soon as I can but thought I would see if anyone else has had this happen and any suggestions. She is on NF can wet dog food from the vet for a couple years now and I have been adding a little Caesar food pouch to her food because the protein is low enough and she loves it. Shes been fine from her food for a long time and nothing else around the house has changed. Thanks for any info and help! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Benadryl usually does not work well for allergies in dogs, and you do have to give it every 4-6 hrs for it to even potentially be therapeutic anyway, which is not convenient. For OTC meds, Vet Derms recommend Claritin or Zyrtec, which are 24 hr meds. But there are prescription meds for allergies that work much better. For how to deal w/ allergies, read this: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...tart-here.html
