Need small kibble recommendation I have a 4# furbaby (almost 2 years old) and need some food recommendations. He was on Purina Pro Plan for toy dogs. It is a very tiny sized kibble. I have tried Royal Canin and the pieces were too big. When mixed with the Purina, he picked out the larger RC pieces and left a mess on the floor. I am now trying Fromm and like that it is 4 star. Fromm is smaller than RC but it is still larger than the Purina. Is there another high quality food that is has very small kibble? I do prefer dry over wet because of teeth health. He doesn't seem to be very picky except for size. Even his treats have to be tiny.

Royal Canin has a formula for toy/xtra small breeds.....cant imagine the kibble is too large for a 4# pup! It is like pellet sized! I am sure you did not have the right formula for your pup!

YorkieMom1 - I bought the Royal Canin Adult Yorkshire Terrier and the bag says the kibble is 1 cm in size. The Purina pro plan is less than half that big. I'll check out the Wellness core. Thanks

Which is why I suggested you get the smaller kibble for toy breeds.....I suspected you did not have the correct formula for the smaller kibble.......the bag specifically states "X-Tra Small/Toy" on the bag. It is NOT the "Adult Yorkshire Terrier".

YorkieMom1 - I didn't know there was a xtra small/toy version of RC. I don't think my store carries it. I'll have to look.

Nutra source has small kibble. My Winnie like it. But I feed Fromms its larger and she has no problems eating it. She just turned 3lbs but was eating it when she was under 2lbs. Unless there a reason you need it really small??

He won't eat anything too large. If I give him a piece of cheese - which he loves - if it is too big, he won't take it. If he gets a small biscuit, instead of eating it he will take it and hide it. He doesn't seem to be picky with tastes, just size.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I like Natures Logic kibble - love their nutrition philosophy...and it's very small kibble. Btw, hard kibble doesn't do anything for "teeth health", in the same way that hard food for humans doesn't do anything for helping our teeth.
