| Farmina N&D Samples Folks with picky dogs should go to the Farmina USA FB Page and get samples. Like my experience, the pickiest of them all are eager to eat this super high quality food. This is the best food available in the US. https://www.facebook.com/FarminaUSA |

| I had requested a sample couple weeks ago & they sent me 2 huge bags last week (biggest sample bag I ever saw!). I didn't open it yet...my guys are off kibble, only eating premade raw food now. Will save it for just in case. Thank you Farmina!

| I'm curious how people's pups are liking the Farmina samples, particularly the ancestral grain ones? Maybe I'll have to request some samples! |

Not every dog will like it but based on my experience the vast majority do. The stuff is super high in animal ingredients and made in a special process so as to not damage the proteins. It smells extremely good, strong but very fresh and the food is very dark. Most foods no matter what they cost smell and look like nothing special. This food is the complete opposite. Someone on the FB page thought the Boar kibble was too hard but I don't find that at all. Last edited by Nipper; 02-27-2014 at 02:33 PM.

| Just received my samples!! The Wild Boar was a hit!! I have 2 yorkies...Boy is 4 lbs. and girl is 3 lbs. At first I thought the kibble size was gonna be too big for their little mouths, but they crunched it up quickly!! So far so good.

| I'm waiting in my samples to get here. My toe aren't picky eaters but Jada has allergies. I am anxious to see if this food agrees with her.

| Wow Mr. Picky Jackson really liked it. Can't believe he just ate the kibble out of my hand happily. Rarely happens!

| Thought I should add that I spoke with someone from Farmina directly on Facebook. I was pleasantly surprised to hear this: We have 6 staff veterinarians and 20 other professionals with advanced scientific degrees. Two of our people are fellows to the European equivalent of the AVMA. We have 3 of our plants and do extensive testing with the University of Milan and Naples. Our company has been around since 1965 and is owned by the Russo family. The food you sampled was tested for 24 months in three published studies for safety before they were put on the market. Our foods test only slightly higher than the minimums (fat). It would not be over 18.05 - 18.10. You will feed less of the food than others so he will get less fat than you think.

It has been shown in people that yeast infections are more common and more severe when estrogen levels are high. I will skip the sweet potato for dogs and cats.

Dr. Jean Dodds' Pet Health Resource Blog | Sweet Potatoes versus White Potatoes: What is the difference for your pet? Not surprisingly, white potatoes rank high on the glycemic index (GI), which measures how much a particular food raises blood sugar levels compared to pure glucose (glucose rates 100 on the glycemic index). According to Harvard Medical School, a baked white potato has a glycemic index of 111, which means that it raises blood sugar 111% as much as pure glucose! Sweet potatoes have a lower GI of 70. While the GI of sweet potatoes might also seem high, sweet potatoes are shown to modulate and even improve blood sugar regulation! Sweet potatoes contain adiponectin, a protein hormone produced by fat cells that modulates insulin metabolism. Low levels of adiponectin are associated with people who have poorly-regulated insulin metabolism, while those with healthy insulin metabolism tend to have higher levels of adiponectin. So, while sweet potatoes are safe for even diabetics to eat, they should avoid consuming high GI white potatoes. Good to know about the yeast infection connection w/sweet potatoes. I have one very yeasty pup & need to avoid all carbs, including sweet potatoes.
