I also use Wellness Core puppy formula, but will next start switching to the Wellness toy-breed weight control (my yorkie has LP "luxating patellas" and all my dogs are chunky X_x). Used various wellness products and have never had a problem ... except when my mother fed everyone 3 meals (worth nearly a whole days worth each) and some snacks ; ;

I fed Hannah Royal Canin puppy formula until she was over a yr. old. I gave her both kibble and can. We tried several others that are in my opinion good for Yorkies but she didn't like them. All of my dogs love RC. I agree that you should find whats good for your pup and what your pup will eat. Wellness and Blue Buffalo are good foods but none of my girls (nine of them) would eat it. My vet actually put her on Hills Science Diet when I first brought her home and the picky little eater didn't want that either. Just change slowly and yes get your baby off of the Beneful. I also stay away from foods and snacks with BHA or any other cancer causing preservatives. I didn't know beans about that until I joined YT! I so wish they would sell trial sizes of everything good for Yorkies.

Keep in mind this is opinion of "Dog Food Advisor" who is a human dentist .....he admits he does no research, does no reporting on quality control/recalls, just uses information on each brand he looks at....what HE considers as "bad ingredients" is like a vegan saying all meat and dairy products are bad for you....that is opinion based on what THAT person considers "bad", not necessarily what research has shown to be part of a balanced healthy diet. Advocates for Raw, swear there is nothing better for your pet than good old raw food! Advocates of home cooking assure you there is nothing better for your pet than home cooking! Then you have all the commercial dog food advocates.....some go with scientific research, evidenced based results on how a dog food performs for their pet. In my years of growing up and all my pets, some have been raised on nothing but table scraps, some have been raised on baked chicken breasts and mixed veggies and did fine. Some have eaten nothing but Purina, some have eaten nothing but Alpo, some have eaten GRAVY TRAIN and did fine!!! All lived to be old, healthy dogs! I can tell you one thing for certain....we NEVER had the teeth issues/tarter problems with my dogs that I see now in everyones dogs.......! Then there are the issues with cancers, liver problems, kidney problems, etc....some is genetic but we cant blame sloppy breeding on all these issues..... We all want to do what is the best for our pups....what works for some, and works exceptionally well, may not be anything the next person considers good. You have to decide what is in YOUR opinion, based on whatever YOU consider qualifying attributes, what is best for YOU and your pup! There are TONS of information posts, based on individual opinions, on dog food here on YT. You MUST do your own research , based on what YOU find.....remembering that the recommendations for any particular type of food, will be skewed towards THAT source's preferences. If you stick to scientific research/results, you will avoid opinions and individual preferences! Then you decide what you want to feed.

His site is just easy to navigate.But search everywhere. My wife use to be a Nutritionist still health nut.. Purina isn't the same food as back in the day. Corn,isn't good when process in its raw state.Not for ppl so I know its not good for my dog. Especially when the manufacture says they use it for protien The its GMO commercial. But thats a different topic. For me unknown bi products meats and meals grains I wouldn't give to my dog. I try to do home made but I still use kibble. And I try to get kibble from a company they doesn't have Lawsuits from there products.
