Please also note that Diamond has only recalled the 4Health brand twice from what I've read & it was a voluntarily recall only as a precaution. It was also a few years back too. (The recall also included "Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul" which is listed here on the board as a recommended premium dog food.) I am guessing at this point I won't know who else feeds their dog this brand since they'll prob to too afraid to admit it. I'm sorry I was just giving my opinion. I too used to think it was all about ingredients and stars until I dug a little deeper. A lot of theses holistic brands that pop up have a main concern of money and don't put actual science behind there formulas. There are people out there like the dentist who runs dog food advisor who are making people think they suddenly are vet nutritionist and know what is best for a dog. Most recalls are voluntary, our rules and stuff for pet food is not really good. It's not always about if there was a recall but how was it handled and what was found out by it. The things they found at a dimond plant were really bad and it effected many of the holistic premium brands rated high many of which switched and have there own plants now. It effect so many dog foods it was big and I just do not trust them about as much as I don't trust purina because they owned that waggin train chicken jerky, knew it was killing dogs but left it on the market anyway. They are just two brands I won't touch. I was trying to share my info and my knowledge about it to help another person. You say now that people would be to afraid to mention the food they feed but couldn't I also take this and be afraid my info and experience is just blown off or taken the wrong way and that I shouldn't give it or try anymore? Food topics can can get rough on this board but if I know something that someone might not or that might help them I would like to share it. I certainly did not mean anything nasty by it.
