| 7 1/2 month old bad breath Have some horrid breath issues with Trinket, she is only 7 1/2 months old. Her teeth have no build up on them and I did find what appeared to be a baby molar in her mouth the other day so I know she is still teething. I just didnt think they would have odor or teeth issues at this age? |

| She has retained puppy teeth that will need to be removed. Food builds up in the double row of teeth and causes the bad breath. Usually, the retained teeth are removed during a spay/neuter around this time. Are you planning on having her spayed soon?

| I guess until then you should try to brush her teeth. Mine were all fixed about about 6 months and any teeth were removed at that time. Except for Bogey, but he was a rescue with double teeth. He was probably around a year or so when I got him and he had horrible breath. But once his teeth were removed the bad breath immediately went away.

| You really should try to do it before her first heat and if the baby teeth are left to long they can cause serious alignment issues with there teeth. I believe that happened to another yorkie here and they ended up having to have one of his k9 teeth shaved down some.

| Dental care is a must for many reasons. Your Vet. can let you know all of them. Also brushing every night before bed will save you from frequent dental cleaning. Having something solid to chew on helps a great deal to keep the teeth and gums strong and healthy.

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I use CET toothpaste from my vet. I get the vanilla mint flavor. You can order this from petmeds.com My boys love this flavor. I get soft brushes, pull back that lip and stick that brush in there and they love it. All I have to say is Brush Teeth and they come running. So cute! |
