Typical urination for a Yorkie puppy? I have a 4 month old Yorkie. It seems like he isn't urinating as much as he was when I first got him (at 8 weeks old). At night, he will usually pee and poop but the past few nights he didn't and slept through the night in his crate without crying, indicating he needs to go out to use the bathroom. This morning I took him out, and he pooped right away. However, he then whined and barked to go back inside, but after I ignored him for a few minutes, he gave up and peed a bit. That was at 6:45am and he hasn't peed since. He is not a big water drinker. Should I be concerned? I will talk to his vet when I take him for his rabies vaccine tomorrow morning but want to see what you all may think. Thank you!

Sleeping through the night without pottying is ok .... but if he hasn't peed since 645 am then I would say he's not drinking enough water... does he seem dehydrated? Pull the skin on his neck (scruff) up....does it pop right back down or stay up and return to normal slowly?

It pops right back down. He peed around an hour or so ago. I'll just make sure to monitor his water intake. Thanks for responding!!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I think this sounds pretty normal for some pups...some last longer than others in terms of peeing. As long as he drinks some water and isn't dehydrated, he's probably just fine.

That's good! I agree. Just be sure he's drinking plenty of water....the other thing to consider is if he has found an inconspicuous place to go pee (like a rug or behind the couch or chair) and is doing it without you seeing...Winnie does that every once in a while when I miss her sign but I can always tell because she tells on herself....Sits next to my feet with a guilty look lol we have hardwoods and only two rugs so it's usually pretty easy for me to find!
