| Water bowl taken away at night My baby is 5 months and 1 week old. If I leave the water out she plays with it instead of drinking it. Would it be bad if I were to take her water at night? If so what time should I take it away? Mia sleeps with me all night even wakes up when I do, doesn't wake me up to let her down she holds her pee till I'm wake up to let her down (awesome huh! ) and give her water. Although when she sleeps with me she sleep more then usual then when on the floor. Her first meal of the day is at 9am n her last is just about 10 sometimes earlier. I understand she's young still but the water mess she continuously makes ruins the whole wee-wee pad I have set out. And I mop this 24/7 I correct her and she knows I don't like it but she does it while looking at me which is a lil funny. Yes! My angel is a brat. |

| I pick up Cody's water bowl at night just as we are heading off to bed. If she sleeps all night with you, there's no need to leave water down. Remove the water just as you are heading off to bed. If you are a SAHM and are tired of the 24/7 mop ups and wee wee pad replacements Don't leave the water bowl down, But every hour offer her water, she drinks, then you remove the bowl, she doesn't drink don't leave the bowl down, remove it. She's tipping her bowl because she knows she gets a reaction from you, good, bad reaction matters not to her lol, it's just the attention, a game to her lol. Yorkies are lil teasers, clowns, even at their baddest it's soooo hard to reprimand them, they are so darn cute. Good luck

| I would only pick it up at bed time. I have a 7 year old yorkie who is 100% potty trained so I keep a small bowl of water in my bedroom and in the middle of the night she will sometimes get a drink then go back to bed. I would not suggest that with pups and dogs who are not potty trained though.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I think picking the water up just at night is fine....they can do without water during that time, and can then drink when they wake if thirsty right away.

| One option is a water bottle--they hang upside down and come in many sizes. They are easy to hang on a crate door or a pen. They don't spill and work beautifully! |

I've been thinking of trying a water bottle. Just wondering how hard it is to train a pup that's used to using a bowl to use it?

| Honestly, IMHO don't waste your money on a water bottle. I put water and food away at night. If they want it, like Lovestodream said, they will let you know. Good Luck, keep us posted.

| If you decide to try it, just show the pup that water comes out when you touch it with your finger. They catch on immediately! |

| We have a water bottle that we hang from the expen when we are gone because pup jumps around and spills water every time. I also take the water bottle on trips because it's easy to give her a drink inside the car! Highly recommend. |
