| Watermelon Last night I was cutting up watermelon and dropped a piece and he ate it? Of course I was nervous all night. He is fine. Can our dogs eat watermelon?

| My dogs LOVE watermelon and they eat as much as I will give them.....they do fine! The water content in the melon is great for summer, keeping them hydrated when we are sitting outside. |

| Mine like watermelon too, but I only give very small amounts when I go give it. They like it frozen too!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Dogs can eat fruit -- but not grapes...I believe grapes is the only one that poses a danger. Otherwise, fruit should be good for them - nice way to add moisture/whole foods etcetera. Just go slow whenever giving fruit or veg for treats bc they may cause a looser still in some dogs, initially. Not all though.

| All the dogs I've had love watermelon. It's a really great treat and hydrates them great. but the watermelon has to at least be decently sweet (lol the ones that are too ripe or too green, they don't like as much) We also be sure to remove any seeds before giving them any. Hadn't tried freezing them before, but it sounds good

| ZoE loves wearermelom! Because of its high water content, it freezes great. I take little pieces of frozen watermelon in a Baggie, in our cooler, when we are planning on a full day outside at an event (dog festival, fair, etc). They help keep Zo hydrated and cool throughout the day, along with her water, mister and cooling mat.

| I can't mention the words melon (watermelon), dews (honeydew) or lopes (cantaloupes) around my guys. Recently added the word cream (ice cream) and can't go into the freezer for a spoon of ice cream without them standing there! lol Thanks for the tip of being able to freeze watermelon pieces!
